Chicken and sushi…

Last night KJ and I made a fabulous chicken with garlic, onions and potatoe dish which I thoroughly enjoyed. Cooking in is def! the way to go here. I swear its like Portenos have a patented totally secret device that sucks all the flavor out of anything and everything. For lunch I was once again dumbfounded at how a meal can be without any flavor and this was a wrap with chicken, cheese, tomatoe, with mayonase, and egg. Now these products, in their natural state, have flavor sooooo the only explanation is that they have some kind of flavor sucking device. It’s a problem. I think the portenos are too busy thinking about how good looking they are that they seem to be missing some critical details. Ah yes, I am a foreigner and a foreigner I shall happily stay.

BTW, my spanish teacher, Lucho, is totally great and is the most real local I have met. Today he told some funny jokes about the local portenos: Why do portenos run outside in an electrical (lightening) storm? Because they think God is taking a picture of them. Lol. Chiste. Claro.

Oh, the other day after the maid came to clean, I was in the kitchen wondering why the water heater was blaringly ON heating up water for I dont know what. At the same time, KJ is in the bathroom and calls me in to tell me she found the bidet, yes we have a bidet its very common here, water on hot running at full blast. Now mind you, we had been in the bathroom but 5 minutes previous and no running water. So, we’re left to believe there is some spirit here in the house of which the message not known. Perhaps just to introduce themselves to us or to beckon to reckon with the bidet. Not a peep since.

Today I booked a round trip ticket to Puerto Iguazu with Miwa, a friend from Osaka, Japan, leaving Sunday night. While there at the totally hugo station I purchased a one way ticket to the estancia. You know, the place without electricity. Totally excited and last I heard he was going to get back to me about who would meet me and if it would be on horseback. Of course, I posed the question: How does one load a rolley suitcase onto a horse? No se.

It’s taken me nearly 3 weeks to land in the present. Yesterday I just let go, of what I dont know, not important. Grateful to among new friends. Tengo suerte.

Tomorrow I tango.
