Pics and home?
The pics are from yesterdays cab ride, I’ll add notes to each photo at some point.
I am now in communication with the estancia regarding my upcoming stay, I’m excited with a healthy dose of nervous and lots of looking forward to it. This place is very remote and the final leg, after a 16 hour bus ride, 3 hour car ride, is a 2 hour horse back ride. No electricity. That means no internet. No phone. 30-40 horses, lots of cattle, gorgeous stunning nature. I’m thrilled.
As I was telling a friend about how I was born in Iowa, I made the connection of being born on a potatoe farm (not really ON a farm) to my obsession with potatoe chips. It was within the context of me exploring these conflicting parts of me, country and city (suburb really) girl. A month in downtown Buenos Aires to a month in remote Northern Patagonia, extremes. Wondering where my medium lies?
And if I return to the farm will my fascination with the potatoe cease and I’ll be home?
