Today, Miercoles, I am content.

I enjoyed lunch alone around the corner at “El Verde”. The tables were filled with mainly business men and couples. I ordered a salad and like most of the time, I understood about 70% of the ingredients: lettuce/lechuga, tomatoe/tomate, corn/maize, parmesan cheese and pancetta with a little olive oil and lemon juice. for desert i had helado caramel, caramel ice cream, with chocolate poured over it, yum. of course i ended the meal with the smallest espresso but also the strongest.

i’m not certain but i think one of the choices for salad was lengua (tongue) with lettuce and roquefort cheese. I was pulled in by the roquefort cheese but when i looked up lengua i changed my mind.

kj is still fighting off a cold, she arrived less than a week ago and it seems she is just catching up with herself. she can get a bit bothered by one of her classmates, which we call ice man or “oregano”, his name is regano from iceland, apparently gorgeous and very arrogant. he likes to remark about how women are pretty and men are smart so kj’s classmates think she is a feminist. she’s asleep on the couch wrapped up in her comforter.

we had the apartment manager, claudia, and the internet guy come by yesterday to fix our intermittent connection. the man rang to us and we talked to him but we couldnt figure out how to buzz him up so i walked down the 3 flights and let him in. he was such a nicely dressed man, i was expecting a young internet guy with a cap and all. he told claudia in spanish that we walked up the stairs, so i got a little teased about that. i like the exercise so i dont mind. i was sure to call the elevator when he departed

so in all, life is good. tonight i’m going to make some pasta and have a glass of wine followed by Freddo.
