Journeys of a blissin gypsy gaucho kissin goddess

New digs

It rained as forecasted today and made for a chilly walk back to the Thai restaurant, Karen was so jazzed. Turns out it was closed, instead we ate at a very gorgeous posh local restaurant La Posada 1602. While I thought I had ordered chicken with scallions, instead I got chicken with mushrooms with wine sauce. It was fabulous despite. We also were treated to a families festivities with typical singing, even a slide show.

Karen and I get on well. We both get distracted easily and our favorite saying is “Oh look a chicken”. Hard to explain but some of you will understand. It’s amazingly different having someone to pal around with and she also loves to laugh, not taking things too seriously, enjoying the ride. Yesterday we decided to look for an apartment together and today we decided on our new home. We move in tomorrow. Sight unseen. I know, its crazy but in case you havent noticed, living in a foreign country is a little crazy too. I must admit, I am relieved to be leaving this guesthouse, though I will miss the location tremendously. We’re moving into the city center, I’ll be just 3 1/2 blocks away from school and 5 from Florida street. Thats a busy pedestrian street filled with tons of shops.

Tonight we met some people from school for dinner, in Las Canitas, near Palermo. Quite a hip restaurant I’ll say, and soon there were people standing around waiting for tables hours on end. Meanwhile, the music was so loud, it was like being at a rave. My ears just cant take that, I was actually in pain and that is no way to converse with friends or enjoy a meal. Some people love Palermo but I find it pretentious and really quite far from the center of things.

I’m off to bed early tonight, just pas midnight here, and going to have a nice rest. We’ve got big plans for our first night at “home” and tossing around the idea of making sushi. Of course it depends if we can FIND ingredients. Did I tell you its nearly 1100 sq feet? With 2 bedroom and 3 baths?
